Abusing Bible Study “Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; but his delight is in the law of the LORD, and in His law he meditates day and night.” {Psalm 1:1,2}

Study Only Fragments “Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, ‘If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.’” {John 8:31,32}

“Therefore I testify to you this day that I am innocent of the blood of all men. For I have not shunned to declare to you the whole counsel of God.” {Acts 20:26,27} Study Only Fragments

“Remind them of these things, charging them before the Lord not to strive about words to no profit, to the ruin of the hearers. Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” {2 Timothy 2:14,15} Study Only Fragments

“The entirety of Your word is truth, And every one of Your righteous judgments endures forever.” {Psalm 119:160} “How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them!” {Psalm 139:17} Study Only Fragments

Old Testament Must Be Studied “For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope.” {Romans 15:4}

“Now these things became our examples, to the intent that we should not lust after evil things as they also lusted… Now all these things happened to them as examples, and they were written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages have come.” {1 Corinthians 10:6,11} Old Testament Must Be Studied

Study to Be Seen of Men “Take heed that you do not do your charitable deeds before men, to be seen by them. Otherwise you have no reward from your Father in heaven. Therefore, when you do a charitable deed, do not sound a trumpet before you as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory from men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. But when you do a charitable deed, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing.” {Matthew 6:1-3}

By Not Retaining Knowledge “Because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools.” {Romans 1:21,22}

“For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins.” {2 Peter 1:9} “But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.” {Matthew 7:26,27} By Not Retaining Knowledge

By Believing Studying Is a Means to an End “But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.” {James 1:22-25}

“As newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby.”{1 Peter 2:2} “But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear.” {1 Peter 3:15} By Believing Studying Is a Means to an End

For Use As a Cover “For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts, always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.” {2 Timothy 3:6,7} Humility in the use of our knowledge is a must!

Abusing Bible Study “ Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; but his delight is in the law of the LORD, and in His law he meditates day and night.” {Psalm 1:1,2}
