2 Introduction The movie is about how is Culture difference between US and India. I will describe both cultures. Show you the Hofstede’s Six dimensions. High and Low Context Cultures.

4 Different eating habits.. In India, they eat foods by hand and in right hand. In this scene in the movie, the man eat food in left hand and he don’t know they only eat in right hand. The left hand in India is considered because people use it to clean up after the completion of the bathroom. In religious place, when you eat the food must eat in right hand. (16 Things Travelers Should NOT Do In India, 2015) Also, when he go to the MacDonald’s to order meat burger and he don’t know is not allow to do meat and some of them vegetarians. On the other hand, US they eat every kind of food and don’t care which of hands when they eat. The India culture, there are not going to be seen positive if someone say you eat beef because the cow is sacred to Hindus, also some of restaurants are vegetarians and sometimes eat chicken. (16 Things Travelers Should NOT Do In India, 2015) High Context Cultures : India, don’t know about meet and left hand. Low Context Cultures : US, they eat everything like it.

6 Marriage clash In US, a person has the freedom to choose the women to get married to, if they want to get married at all. Love marriages are more common. Also, a parents are not forced her children into a marriage. (Difference between, n.d.). On the other hand, in India, marriage is important part in a person’s life. They choose for her children who will went to get married to. (Difference between, n.d.). On the scene when the Indian woman says she will marry the person whom their grandfather chose for her from years. Indulgence: US, enjoying life as freedom and having fun. Restraint: India, Marrying the person which the grandfathers set for a woman.

8 Culture clash In the movie the man don’t know about India culture like, foods, religion. When Asha said “ You need to learn about India”. Indian culture can be broken down into two parts; traditional culture and modern culture. Traditional Indian culture is the one that is followed in the rural areas of India, while modern culture is in the urban areas. The traditional culture has been on a continuous decline, with westernization play a huge part in an attempt to bridge the gap between different cultures. (Difference between, n.d.). long term and short term: Traditional respect was their when they accepted to learn each others cultures. Fewer written rules existed, and more generalists The call center was behaving as a family together. Holy celebration in India.

9 I Like to live a lone.

10 Way of live In US, The person can live alone with out her parents. In this scene in the movie, the man think he will stay in hotel but they change her stay and will stay in Guest House with a family. Also, the women ask her: “What does your father do”.Ono other hand, Indian live with her parents and don’t set alone and care a visitor. In India, Family is most important part of a person, from an early age to old age all of them they life in one house and all help each other. Like, the girls help mother in the house and the boys help father in his business. (Difference between, n.d.) In US, they have certain age to live with parents and movie to own home. A child receives independence at the age of 18 and is considered as an adult at that point of age. Depending on the household, a child can either continue living there until marriage or move out at the age of 18. A child is also expected to start working at that age, at least part time along with college. (Difference between, n.d.) Individualism: In USA, the people like to stay alone and responsible for himself. collectivism In India they considered the person as a family when he shaped up in the assistances house.

12 Different religions In India have many difference religions. In this scene in the movie, when the man saw the picture in her room in Guest House. And in taxi and ask why but this in car ? Also when he saw to woman drink milk in the temple. On the other hand, the USA have only one religions is Christians. In India, the religious beliefs and practices, which have a large impact on the personal lives of most Indians and influence public life on a daily basis. (Religions, n.d.) In US, the religious is freedom and identify themselves as Christians. (Zimmermann, 2015) Uncertainty avoidance.
