3. Rosario Gamutin, 44 y.o., mother of four is an active member of the Creative Hands of Women from Barangay Bosque Cluster. Her husband works is Metro Manila as a construction worker and the occasional delays of her husband’s remittances led her to resort to the credit system just to support her children’s education, if not, sell her goats and chickens.

4. Sario’s daily routine was spent mainly on household chores, attending to her domestic animals (5 goats, 1 cow and 10 native chickens) and most of the time watching television as early as 8am because according to her, she has nothing left to do when her daughters go to school. She also hates housewives doing “chismis” during their free time.

5. Now that she is a member of CHW, her daily routine changed dramatically. After doing the house chores, she starts doing coco coir rugs under the shade of the tree just in front of her house. “Watching tv can be made at night while doing finishing touches of my handwoven rugs”. Sario now enjoys an income of P400 – P500 per week.

6. When asked for her reflections in joining the group, she said that it made her more EMPOWERED as a woman. That being able to contribute to the family’s income is one the of the best things women can be PROUD of.

7. Her income from doing rugs was used to buy basic commodities such as rice and fish for the family’s table. Though she feels that not all of the things she expected for the group were realized, she still hopes for the best things to come sometime soon.
