2 1. Note Cards Great for vocabulary – put the word on one side and the definition on the opposite side Make up fill in the blank or multiple choice questions with the answer and question on opposite sides.

3 Study Methods 2. Several nights before the test begin rereading the chapter. You may be able to read the chapter several times.

4 Study Methods 3.As you are reading the chapter take notes to ensure that you are comprehending what you are reading. When taking notes: 1.Be brief (write most important) 2.Use abbreviations like “w/” “=“ 3.Be neat 4.Use a highlighter 5.Use sticky notes

5 Study Methods 4.Recopy your notes 1.Recopy the notes several times 2.For sections that are really important that you have to know and memorize – copy it over and over again.

6 Study Methods 5.Make up a practice test 1.Have your parents or sibling quiz you 2.Set up a “mock” testing environment so that you practice actually taking the test.

7 Study Methods 6.Discuss the material with a parent and/or friend. 1.Explain the subject matter you are required to know instead of memorizing items. This will help you to better know your material.

8 Study Methods 7. After you recopy your notes, mark out key words of each statement and write them to the left of the statement in the margin. Cover the margin and read the statement and try to “fill in the blank”.

9 Study Methods 8. Do the chapter reviews at the end of the chapter.
