3 2013 Calendar  DRAFT  OPEN dates for Campus Requests  Campus co-instructors are vital! 3

4 What to Expect  1.5 hour Curriculum Development session  One-on-one meetings (development of the specific training objectives and methods, finalize web page)  Dry run occurs at Viking Studios two weeks prior  Another meeting has been found to be helpful in addition to the dry run  Final materials due the Friday prior to your live event  The 60-90 minute live webinar event will take place  A debrief session may be scheduled to discuss how the webinar went, review survey results, and brainstorm areas for improvement on subsequent training sessions 4

5 What to Expect  Plan to arrive at the studio one hour ahead of the live event  Viking technical staff will provide a studio tour  My role as on-site training support  Informal debrief at the conclusion of the live event  Discuss/suggest any highlights of the program to use as a program excerpt  Exit surveys results are shared with the co-instructors 5

7 Curriculum Development Session: Sneak Preview  Training: It’s More Than Telling 7

8 Participants will:  Question what they already believe about training and reflect on this knowledge  Complete a course design (lesson plan) on their area of expertise  Incorporate various training techniques to maximize participant learning utilizing the six practices for successful trainers: 1.Customization 2.Documentation 3.Timing 4.Creativity 5.Articulation 6.Diplomacy  Design and deliver a 60-90 minute live streaming webinar, and any other follow- up educational events  Monitor the effectiveness of their training Lesson Objectives

9 Dry Run Schedule  Dry Runs are scheduled to occur two weeks prior to your live event.  Occur immediately following the previous live program  12:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.  Campus participants may participate virtually 9
