Vocabulary Conditional statement= if-then statement Hypothesis = the sentence/phrase following “if”. It contains the information that is assumed to be true. Conclusion = the sentence/phrase following “then”. It contains the information to be proven

Examples of Conditional Statement: “If the Chargers won the first game, then they will win the Superbowl” “If the everyone did their homework, then Mr. Liu will host a party Friday”

Interwrite Activity/Whiteboard: Find the Hypothesis and Conclusion Blue = hypothesis Yellow = Conclusion 1) If it’s warm this afternoon, then the school will provide free Gatorades

Interwrite Activity/Whiteboard: Find the Hypothesis and Conclusion Blue = hypothesis Yellow = Conclusion “If a person drives a Porsche, then that person is rich”

Converse Example 1) If you want to be fit, then you want to get plenty of exercise

Whiteboard Find the converse: Write it on the white board “If you scored 81 points, then your team wins the game”
