My client has approved the PlaceLocal ad, what next? For sites using the Insertion Order (IO) system: An ad number is needed before finalizing your ad in PlaceLocal. Create the scheduling order in the IO system to generate an AD# to associate with the PlaceLocal ad tag. For sites not using the IO system: You do not need an ad number before finalizing your ad in PlaceLocal. Complete the pdf insertion order and include the PlaceLocal ad tag with the e-mail order sent to ad operations. Enter the price The price field requires an entry, but GateHouse Media does not require the actual rate to be entered. A rate of $1 can be entered to create the ad. Enter the start and end dates Make sure the dates match what is on the IO. Select Continue Proceed to step 6 - Checkout To generate an ad tag The ad needs to be “sold” status. Proceed to step 5 - Finalize
Step 6 – Checkout: Enter the campaign name For sites using the Insertion Order (IO) system: The campaign name must match the customer name on the insertion order and include the insertion order ad#. This will ensure that Ad Operations can associate the ad/creative with the campaign scheduled. For sites not using the IO system: Enter a campaign/customer name only. You do not have an ad # to associate with your PlaceLocal order, so do not include an ad #. Select You must agree to the terms of service agreement to proceed. Select Submit
Generating the Ad Tag After selecting “submit” you are automatically directed to the ad tag (aka invocation code) page. You must download the appropriate ad size based on your insertion order. If you have multiple ad sizes ordered, you must download each size. Ad Sizes The following sizes are available for display: 160x600 300x250 728x90 Mobile ads are not currently available through PlaceLocal.
Copying the Ad Tag The ad tag will appear in a text format when downloaded. Copy the text and insert/paste it into your e-mail to ad operations. Ad Operations: Fairport E-mail: email@example.com Ad Operations: New England E-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org
Submitting the Ad Tag to Ad Operations When a PlaceLocal ad is “sold”, you will receive an e-mail with the customer name (and ad # for sites using the IO system) for your campaign. This must match the information in your insertion order for ad operations to properly connect the ad with the order. For sites using the Insertion Order (IO) system: Insert/paste the downloaded ad tag (as show on previous slides) within this e-mail and forward the email to Ad Operations (Fairport or New England). For sites not using the (IO) system: Insert/paste the downloaded ad tag (as show on previous slides) to the same e-mail with your insertion order. Once the campaign is live, you will see activity in the PlaceLocal interface.
