2.  Born in Wisconsin in 1887.  Second of seven children.  Received art lessons at home.  Moved to Virginia at age 15.

3.  Studied at the Institute of Chicago (1905-06).  Studied at the Art Students League in New York (1907-08).  Her artwork was called imitative realism.  Taught art in 1915.

10.  Met Alfred Stieglitz in 1908 at his art gallery.  He first exhibited 10 of her drawings in 1916.  Alfred was 23 years older than Georgia.  Married Alfred in 1924.

11.  Visited New Mexico in 1929 and loved it.  Vacationed there every summer until Alfred died in 1946.  Moved to New Mexico in 1949.  Failing eyesight forced her to stop painting.  Lived there until her death in 1986.
