4 National Prison Healthcare Network Advisory Board NHS Chief Executives Training and Educational Support – NHS Education Scotland and SoFMH PURPOSE – To advise NHS, SPS, Scottish Government on Prisoner Healthcare To collaborate with justice and health agencies and third sector To influence and respond to Government Policy To commission workstreams in relation to offender health To provide expert advice and opinion as required MEMBERSHIP Chair: NHS Director Health & Justice Vice Chair: SPS Director Strategy & Innovation SPS Director of Health CJAs Scottish Government Director of Public Health Third Sector Governors in Charge NHS Board Leads Offender Health Collaborativ e NPHN Leads

6 Mental Health Workstream Initial workstream produced report, now available on Forensic Website. http://www.forensicnetwork.scot.nhs.uk/wp- content/uploads/2012/06/310314-NPHN.doc Key recommendations. Implementation Group established to provide plan for health boards to implement receommendations. Group has met had initial mtg. In September Will lead on number of area’s.......

8 2 5 Nations Health & Justice Collaboration and WHO HIPP Conference Theme “empowering people in prison, improving lives in the community”. Event was overtaken by initiative Ireland - Prisoner Empowerment - Community Based Health and First Aid in Prisons (CBHFA) Wish to advise and ask audience to research this absolutely amazing transformation. 10% of all Irish inmates are now red cross volunteers.
