2. 2 The obligatory qualification of accomodation was ceased in October 2009 following the harmonisation of Service Directive regulation in the Hunagarian legal regulation In tourism quality is a key issue, only those services are competitive, who provide reliable quality – Accomodations (trademarks) – Gastronomy (raw materials, local food) – Programs (International awards, qualification of festivals) Objective of the national trademarking

3. 3 Objectve of trademarking 2 Joining the National Trademark System is not mandatory, but contributes – to differenciate the good quality from non-qualified services – to strengthen costumer consciousness – to provide guideline to select services easier

4. 4 The advantages of trademarking The criteria of qualification is set and public Qualified establishment are controlled regularly The qualification is based on the principle of competence, indenpendence and impartiality In case of failure of technical requirements the use of trademark can be withdrawn The list of establishments obtained or lost the trademark is public

7. 7 The results and actors of the qualification system Qualified accommodations – Rural accomodation units: 390 unit – Private rooms: 17 unit – Holiday camp: 5 unit – Camping: 22 unit – Hotel: 334 unit The owner of the National Trademark: the Hungarian State The administrative duties/management of the qualification is the responsibility of the relavant professional associations The decision is made by the Minister responsible for tourism based on the proposal of Qualification Committee
