Problem Identification (Cont.)  Bottlenecked Information flow: - Cannot monitor the inventory (stock level) effectively and efficiently  lack of information about the products sold as well as existing products among the stores. - Staff was not well-trained on the products e.g. stock-take procedure. - Mismanagement on the product supplies e.g. Ordering occurs only after stock level reaches 0. In reality, the manager needs to set the lead time of the product.

Information gaps  Stock level cannot be testified.  Customer orders including not-buying and reordering.  External data and facts i.e. policy, competitors, customer’s demand and expectations.

Unfulfilled Information needs  Internal requirement: - Integrated reports about the stock level, customer orders and financial reports among the outlets. - Details about distribution and placement of the product. - Information about competitors, customer demands and the market’s status.  External Requirement: - Customers demand new staffs to be more understandable to their products. - Demand an e-procurement.

Solutions 1. The main source of information needs to transfer the info to other places at first. 2. The output of information needs to be re-arranged in convenient orders i.e. sorting and avoid duplication. 3. Training course for the staff.

Recommendations 1. Information delivered from the center i.e. the main warehouse needs to initially transfer the info of the current inventory to other stores in Hanoi and HCMC  input of goods. 2. Each store should update their information at once when a sales occurs. 3. Inventory management should be well applied so that the products always meet the customers' demand. 4. Perform market research. 5. All these information about sales, orders, inventory turnover and revenues should be seized in an integrated system which the warehouse and other stores can access to it anytime. 6. Training for staff is very necessary to VinaDisc.
