SOE Server Status Monitoring on HIS –The status of SOE server program such as “stop or run” is monitored by HIS and displayed as a system alarm on HIS. SOE Server Database Monitoring Function –The pre-alarm can be set for the insufficient database capacity in the SOE server and sent to HIS as a system message. Multilingual Message Inputs and Display –The SOE message can be defined in multilingual by SOE Configurator and displayed in the message field on the SOE Viewers.

However, time resolution is 1 msec. Status Monitoring of IRIG-B Synchronization –Synchronization quality for IRIG-B of Master Clock Generator is displayed as a quality data in the events display on the SOE viewer. – Correct Synchronization: Null Incorrect Synchronization : “P”: Lost of IRIG-B signal, “B”: Lost of IRIG-B signal after synchronization, “I”: Time writing error to ADV151-E Trigger Event Time Data on the Trip Report Header –The trigger event time is printed on the header of trip report.

10 ISD-MASP-S03066 Rev.1 Copyright © Yokogawa Electric Corporation October 17, 2003 R3.04 SEM Page.10 Focus Markets of SEM Usage of SEM –SEM records and shows the event occurrences that are traceable to a plant trip in chronological order, thus enabling swift location of the true cause of the trip (like a flight recorder for an airplane disaster). Tracking down the cause early and taking due measures promptly will greatly reduce the time from tripping to restarting the plant, minimizing economic losses. Markets for SEM –SEM is beneficial for plants which could sustain large losses in case of a plant trip, or plants of major public interest where a trip could affect society, such petrochemical, gas, and power generation plants. –For example, a power generation plant requires fast event data acquisition at the time resolution of 1 millisecond for trips of rotating machine (turbines, fans, and pumps) and power delivery systems.

12 ISD-MASP-S03066 Rev.1 Copyright © Yokogawa Electric Corporation October 17, 2003 R3.04 SEM Page.12 SEM Features High-speed Event Acquisition –Time stamp resolution must be 1 millisecond or faster to enable tracking of trip events for quick-response equipment. Digital Inputs in Shared Use for Control and SOE Recording –Digital inputs to the same I/O module must be used for both control and SOE recording, reducing wiring and cabinets. Time Synchronization to External Master Clock based on the global positioning system (GPS) –To ensure the accuracy of the sequence of events. Trip Reports Automatic Generation –To report the events occurring across the preset trigger for each trip. Long-term Storage of SOE Data OPC Interface for Data Openness Historical Data Integration with HIS –Maximum eight data source can be assigned to SOE Viewer

It receives reference time information from Atomic Clocks in the GPS (Global Positioning System) satellites. IRIG-B Defined by the Range Commanders Council, U.S. Army White Sands Missile Range. The format is used by military, government, power industry, and many other commercial and industrial applications. The GPS-200A generates IRIG-B in both a 1kHz modulated and unmodulated (pulse-width coded) format. All formats of IRIG-B time code generated by the GPS-200A carry extended date and time zone information in the control functions as defined by the IEEE 1344 specification. DB-9 CONNECTIONS Pin 7 & 8 - Balanced Time Code Out RS-422 balanced 5V differential time code output. IRIG-B unmodulated (pulse-width coded) time code is available here per time code output configuration. See detailed instruction by accessing http://www.masterclock.com/data_files/gps200a.pdf.
