3 Background Info In 1337 King Edward the Third (England) said because of his lineage he is now the king of France, since the previous king didn’t have any sons. The French king did not agree. Which started the first battle.

7 End of the War The French eventually won. The Battle of Castillon was the last formal battle, but the countries remained at war for another 20 years. The English could no longer fight because of unrest at home. It was almost started again.
