2. A RTIFICIAL B LOOD The blood of another person will be injected into your veins to replace the lost blood. The blood must be the same blood type as yours. Blood transfusion is not permanent and is only a short supply. If the artificial blood is infected than there is a risk of the infection being passed on.

3. E LECTROCARDIOGRAMS (ECG) ECG’s show the electrical activity of a person's heart. They are used to diagnose heart problems or abnormalities. Electrocardiograms are produced when electrodes are stuck to the skin. When the heart beats, it produces tiny impulses which the electrocardiogram measures. An abnormal trace produced by and electrocardiogram could indicate that the person taking the ECG has arrhythmia (irregular heart beats), cardio infarction (dead tissue in heart) or other heart conditions.

4. A RTIFICIAL P ACEMAKER A medical device that uses electrical impulses by contacting the heart muscles, to regulate the beating of the heart. A pacemaker's job is to maintain a sufficient heart rate. A pacemaker is used when the heart's cardio pacemaker is not fast enough or there is a block in the heart's conduction system.
