Analysis of local situations and definition of common databases to monitor environmental performances of port areas Each partner will produce detailed documentation of the activities hosted in its port area, the environmental impacts produced, the management system adopted, problems solved or unsolved, the possible solutions, the best practices implemented, the fields of co-operation with the City Authority, the relationship problems with the city and the region, etc. The local documentation will be produced according to a common format drawn up in technical workshops, containing the definition of a set of environmental and sustainability indicators for the port areas. The data contained in each local documentation will be assembled and managed in a common data base, the starting point for access to the world of EMS. IONAS Thessaloniki, 22 September 2005. EMS pre-implementation training and design activities Working with training workshops (also on-line) each port area will get familiar with terminology used in EMS and will gain an opportunity to understand EMS in their city context. It must be conceived as work-in-progress. 3.Defining personalized “ecomaps” of environmental problems and risks for each port area - by means of a set of “face to face” matching meetings during the next IONAS workshop (Slovenia in March and Venice in October) IONAS Thessaloniki, 22 September 2005.
