1 Hetman Bohdan Khmelnytsky He was a hetman of the Zaporozhian Cossack Hetmanate of Ukraine. He led the uprising against the Polish- Lithuanian Commonwealth magnates (1648-1654) with the goal of creating an independent Cossack state. In 1654 he concluded the Treaty of Pereyaslav with the Tsardom of Russia, which led to the eventual loss of Ukrainian independence first in the Russian Empire and later in the Soviet Union.

4 Ivan Bohun was a Ukrainian Cossack military leader. Close associate and friend of Bohdan Khmelnytsky, he opposed both the pacts with Poland (Treaty of Hadziacz of 1658) and with Muscovy (Treaty of Pereyaslav of 1654).

6 Petro Konashevych 'Sahaidachny' Sahaidachny was born in 1570 He joined with the Sich in 1601, first participated in campaigns against the Tatars and Turks The Zaporozian Sich gave Petro Konashevych the nickname 'Sahaidachny' Hetman of the Zaporozhian Cossacks from 1614–22 Also held as a political and civic leader to the Sich Led the way for the Sich in many battles against the Turks Sachaidachny and troops under his command where quite significant in the battle of Khotyn Sahaidachny died on 20 April 1622 of wounds suffered in the battle of Khotyn
