“If Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith...” (1 Corinthians ch.15, vs.14) Resurrection Sunday – Easter’s Gifts Welcome to Tettenhall Wood

For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. And when they cried out to the Lord, He raised up for them a deliverer.

I know that my Redeemer lives, and that in the end he will stand upon the earth. For Jesus was declared Son of God by a mighty act in that He rose from the dead.

Living Lord we praise you for your presence in our lives and for being the bearers of your message and purpose. Hallelujah! Praise the Lord!

Yours is the glory, Resurrected One; Yours the final victory, God's eternal Son. Now the angel greets You, Sweeping through death's night; Moves the stone that guards You, Floods the grave with light. Yours is the glory

Yours is the glory, Resurrected One; Yours the final victory, God's eternal Son. Yours is the glory

See His appearing, With the wounds He bore; See Your Saviour living: See, and doubt no more! Enter into gladness, People of the King; Let delight be endless: Christ is triumphing! Yours is the glory

Yours is the glory, Resurrected One; Yours the final victory, God's eternal Son. Yours is the glory

Fear flies before Him! He whom we adore, Once death's helpless victim, Lives for evermore. Prince of Peace: our victory, Life and strength are here, Flooding us with glory; No, we shall not fear! Yours is the glory

Yours is the glory, Resurrected One; Yours the final victory, God's eternal Son. Edmond Budry (1854-1932) translated by Alan Gaunt (born 1935) Translation © 1991 Stainer & Bell Ltd Yours is the glory

Jesus Christ, the Son of God, conquered death for us! Hallelujah! Praise the Lord! Hallelujah! Thank you, Lord! Jesus Christ, the Son of God, rose triumphant from the grave. Hallelujah! Praise the Lord! Hallelujah! Thank you, Lord!

Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is seated in heaven at the Father’s side. Hallelujah! Praise the Lord! Hallelujah! Thank you, Lord! Jesus Christ, the Son of God, will return in power and majesty. Hallelujah! Praise the Lord! Hallelujah! Thank you, Lord! Christ is risen! He is risen indeed!

When Easter to the dark world came, Fair flowers glowed like scarlet flame: At Eastertide, at Eastertide, O glad was the world at Eastertide. When Easter to the dark world came

When Mary in the garden walked, And with her risen Master talked: At Eastertide, at Eastertide, O glad was the world at Eastertide. When Easter to the dark world came

When John and Peter in their gloom Met angels at the empty tomb: At Eastertide, at Eastertide, O glad was the world at Eastertide. When Easter to the dark world came

When ten disciples met in fear, Then ‘Peace,’ said Jesus, ‘I am here’: At Eastertide, at Eastertide, O glad was the world at Eastertide. When Easter to the dark world came

When Thomas' could not understand Then Jesus stretched His wounded hand: At Eastertide, at Eastertide, O glad was the world at Eastertide. When Easter to the dark world came

And friend to friend in wonder said: 'The Lord is risen from the dead!’ At Eastertide, at Eastertide, O glad was the world at Eastertide. When Easter to the dark world came

This Eastertide with joyful voice We'll sing: 'The Lord is King! Rejoice!' At Eastertide, O sing, all the world, for Eastertide. W. H. Hamilton (1886-1958) Copyright © Oxford University Press When Easter to the dark world came

23 Praise God from whom all blessings flow; Praise Him all creatures here below. Praise Him above ye heavenly hosts; Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost. AMEN.

God is love: His the care, Tending each, everywhere. God is love - all is there! Jesus came to show Him, That we all might know Him:

Sing aloud, loud, loud! God is good! God is truth! God is beauty! Praise him!

Jesus came, lived and died for our sake, crucified, rose again, glorified:; he was born to save us by the truth he gave us:

Sing aloud, loud, loud! God is good! God is truth! God is beauty! Praise him!

None can see God above; Jesus shows how to love; Thus may we Godward move, joined as sisters, brothers, finding him in others:

Sing aloud, loud, loud! God is good! God is truth! God is beauty! Praise him!

To our Lord, praise we sing - Light and life, friend and king, Coming down love to bring, Pattern for our duty, Showing God in beauty:

Sing aloud, loud, loud! God is good! God is truth! God is beauty! Praise him! Percy Dreamer (1867-1936)

Suddenly there was a great earthquake! For an angel of the Lord came down from heaven, rolled aside the stone, and sat on it. His face shone like lightning, and his clothing was as white as snow. The guards shook with fear when they saw him...

The women ran quickly from the tomb. They were very frightened but also filled with great joy, and they rushed to give the disciples the angel’s message.

The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.

Do you believe that Jesus died? WE DO! Do you believe that Jesus rose from the dead? WE DO! So - what are you going to do?

WE SHALL CELEBRATE EASTER! WE SHALL BRING LOVE TO THOSE WHO ARE SAD; AND SHARE JOY WITH THOSE WHO ARE HAPPY. WE WILL LIVE OUR LIVES TO THE GLORY OF GOD. WE WILL LIVE IN EASTER JOY AND EASTER HOPE. AND BRING NEW LIFE TO THOSE WE MEET. ALLELUIA!

The day of resurrection, Earth, tell it out abroad! The passover of gladness, The passover of God! From death to life eternal, From earth unto the sky, Our Christ has brought us over With hymns of victory. The day of resurrection

Our hearts be pure from evil, That we may see aright The Lord in rays eternal Of resurrection light; And, listening to His accents, May hear, so calm and plain, His own, 'All hail!' and, hearing, May raise the victor strain. The day of resurrection

Now let the heavens be joyful, Let earth her song begin, The round world keep high triumph, And all that is therein; Let all things seen and unseen Their notes of gladness blend, For Christ the Lord is risen, Our joy that has no end. John of Damascus (died c. 750) Tr. John Mason Neale (1818-66) The day of resurrection

God came in Jesus Human life sharing; Gave His life for us, Suffered and died; Then, Resurrection! Death could not hold Him; By love's perfection Death was denied. God came in Jesus

Then, as they waited, All of a sudden, Strong and elated, Freed of all cares; With no misgiving, Joyful apostles Knew that His living Spirit was theirs. God came in Jesus

So let us greet His Coming among us; Let us still meet His Love with delight; Through resurrection Joyfully taking Love's new direction, Flooded with light. God came in Jesus

He will be coming, Mighty and glorious, Universe humming Loud in acclaim; Through resurrection, All of creation, Brought to perfection Praising His name. Alan Gaunt (born 1935) © 1991 Stainer & Bell Ltd God came in Jesus

"Whoever hears my words and believes in God has eternal life..." (Jn.5:24).

We believe that Jesus died on a cross. We believe that God rose Him from the dead. We believe that after His resurrection, Jesus' friends saw and touched Him.

We believe that Jesus' death sets us free from our sins. We believe that we have new life in Him. We believe that one day we will live with Jesus in glory. Alleluia!

See, what a morning, gloriously bright, With the dawning of hope in Jerusalem; Folded the grave-clothes, tomb filled with light, as the angels announce, "Christ is risen!" See God's salvation plan, wrought in love, borne in pain, paid in sacrifice, Fulfilled in Christ, the Man, For He lives: Christ is risen from the dead!

See Mary weeping, "Where is He laid?" As in sorrow she turns from the empty tomb; Hears a voice speaking, calling her name; It's the Master, the Lord raised to life again! The voice that spans the years, Speaking life, stirring hope, bringing peace to us, Will sound till He appears, For He lives: Christ is risen from the dead!

One with the Father, Ancient of Days, Through the Spirit who clothes faith with certainty. Honour and blessing, glory and praise to the King crowned with pow'r and authority! And we are raised with Him, Death is dead, love has won, Christ has conquered; And we shall reign with Him, For He lives: Christ is risen from the dead! Words and Music by Keith Getty and Stuart Townend Copyright © 2003 Kingsway Thankyou Music

Today we have celebrated the glorious mystery of Christ's resurrection. Let us go forth, rejoicing in the knowledge that Jesus is alive. Today we look to the future. Let us go to live as people bathed in the light of resurrection. Alleluia!
