4 4 Ways to go about it: Assess yourself: – What motivates you? – What type of lifestyle do you want? – What type of work environment would you prefer? – Do you like to work alone, with others, or in a large group?

5 5 Think in terms of Skills! What skills do you naturally have? Speaking in front of others Analyzing data Reading and understanding information Listening to others Hands-on work Organizing Problem Solving

6 6 Education Options Skills/Certificate Programs – Hands on skills – months up to 2 years Associate Degree – 2 year degree offered by the community college in a course of study Bachelor’s Degree – 4 year degree offered by an university or college in a course of study – generally in Arts or Science Master’s Degree – 2 years after Bachelor’s degree specializing in an area of study – Requires a thesis/research project Doctorate Degree – 2-6 years after Master’s Degree specializing in an area of study – Requires a dissertation on a specific field of study
