4 Manipulating Inequations… -3 < 4 Multiply each side by 5 -3 x 5 < 4 x 5 -15 < 20 True again!

5 Manipulating Inequations… -3 < 4 Multiply each side by -5 -3 x -5 < 4 x -5 15 < -20 Uh oh…

6 Rule: If we multiply or divide each side of an inequation by the same NEGATIVE number, we must REVERSE the inequality sign Let’s do an example… 12 – x < -6 + 2x
