Go Tell It On The Mountain

Go tell it on the mountain, Over the hills and everywhere; Go tell it on the mountain that Jesus Christ is born.

While shepherds kept their watching o’er silent flocks by night,

Behold, throughout the heavens, there shone a holy light.

Go tell it on the mountain, Over the hills and everywhere; Go tell it on the mountain that Jesus Christ is born.

The shepherds feared and trembled when, lo! Above the earth

Rang out the angel chorus that hailed our Savior’s birth.

Go tell it on the mountain, Over the hills and everywhere; Go tell it on the mountain that Jesus Christ is born.

Down in a lowly manger the humble Christ was born

And God sent us salvation that blessed Christmas morn

Go tell it on the mountain, Over the hills and everywhere; Go tell it on the mountain that Jesus Christ is born.

Go tell it on the mountain, Over the hills and everywhere; Go tell it on the mountain that Jesus Christ is born.

Welcome & Announcements!

Call To Worship Leader:Christ our Lord invites to his table all who love him, who earnestly repent of their sin. People:Merciful God, we confess that we have not loved you with our whole heart. Leader:Hear the good news; Christ died for us while we were yet sinners; that proves God’s love toward us. People:In the name of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven

I Saw The Light

I saw the light, I saw the light. No more darkness, no more night.

Now I’m so happy No sorrow in sight. Praise the Lord, I saw the light!

I wandered so aimless, Life filled with sin; I wouldn’t ask my dear Saviour in.

Then Jesus came Like a stranger in the night; Praise the Lord, I saw the light!

I saw the light, I saw the light. No more darkness, no more night.

Now I’m so happy No sorrow in sight. Praise the Lord, I saw the light!

Just like a blind man I wandered alone, Worries and fears I claimed for my own.

Then like the blind man That Jesus gave back his sight; Praise the Lord, I saw the light!

I saw the light, I saw the light. No more darkness, no more night.

Now I’m so happy No sorrow in sight. Praise the Lord, I saw the light!

I was a fool To wander astray, For straight is the gate And narrow is the way.

Now I have traded The wrong for the right; Praise the Lord, I saw the light!

I saw the light, I saw the light. No more darkness, no more night.

Now I’m so happy No sorrow in sight. Praise the Lord, I saw the light!

I saw the light, I saw the light. No more darkness, no more night.

Now I’m so happy No sorrow in sight. Praise the Lord, I saw the light!

Chalk Talk with Pastor Mark Farnell and the CUMC Children

Passing The Peace

What Child is This

What child is this, who laid to rest, on Mary’s lap is sleeping? Whom angels greet with anthems sweet, While shepherds watch are keeping?

This, this is Christ the King, Whom shepherds guard and angels sing. Haste, haste to bring Him laud, the Babe the Son of Mary.

Why lies He in such mean estate Where ox and ass are feeding? Good Christian, fear for sinners here, The silent Word is pleading.

Nails, spear shall pierce Him through, The cross be born, for me, for you. Hail, hail the word made flesh, The Babe the Son of Mary.

So bring Him incense, gold and myrrh; Come, peasant king, to own Him. The King of kings salvation brings; Let loving hearts enthrone Him

Raise, raise the song on high; The Virgin sings her lullaby. Joy, joy for Christ is born, the Babe, the Son of Mary.

Scripture Matthew 2: 1-12 Isaiah 60: 1-6 Ephesians 3: 1-12 Scripture Taken from the Holy Bible Today’s New International Version

Matthew 2: 1-12 The Magi Visit the Messiah 1After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi g from the east came to Jerusalem 2and asked, “Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.” 3When King Herod heard this he was disturbed, and all Jerusalem with him. 4When he had called together all the people’s chief priests and teachers of the law, he asked them where the Messiah was to be born. 5“In Bethlehem in Judea,” they replied, “for this is what the prophet has written:

Matthew 2: 1-12 The Magi Visit the Messiah 6 “ ‘But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are by no means least among the rulers of Judah; for out of you will come a ruler who will shepherd my people Israel.’ h” 7Then Herod called the Magi secretly and found out from them the exact time the star had appeared. 8He sent them to Bethlehem and said, “Go and make a careful search for the child. As soon as you find him, report to me, so that I too may go and worship him.”

Matthew 2: 1-12 The Magi Visit the Messiah 9After they had heard the king, they went on their way, and the star they had seen when it rose went ahead of them until it stopped over the place where the child was. 10When they saw the star, they were overjoyed. 11On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh. 12And having been warned in a dream not to go back to Herod, they returned to their country by another route.
