1 What is PBIS? Positive Behavior, Intervention, and Support Revised August 2015

2 Goals of PBIS Increase the number of appropriate student behaviors. Reduce behavioral disruptions, referrals, and incident reports. Increase attendance. Create a positive and calm school environment that is beneficial to learning.

3 RMS School-Wide Expectations A Rene Rost Pirate will be: - R espectful - M ature - S elf-discipline All behaviors should reflect respect, maturity, and self-discipline.

4 Identifying RMS Expectations Behavior expectations will be posted in areas around the school. The expectations are specific for each area. Students are expected to follow these expectations at all times. Students will be rewarded for following the expectations and displaying positive behaviors.

5 RMS on the Playground Stay in designated area. Keep hands, feet, and unkind words to self. Keep playground clean. Line up quietly in single file when instructed.

6 RMS in the Restroom Respect others’ privacy. Keep restroom clean. Wash hands and return to assigned area. Keep hands, feet, and unkind words to self.

7 RMS in the Cafeteria Line up quietly in single file. Keep area clean. Dispose of food, plate, and utensils in proper area. Leave according to instructions. Keep hands, feet, and unkind words to self. Speak in a low voice.

8 RMS for Assemblies Sit quietly with assigned teacher or class. Respect guests or performers. Leave according to instructions. Keep hands, feet, and unkind words to self.

9 RMS in Hallway and Stairs Speak in low voice. Walk on right side of hallway/stairs. Keep hands, feet, and unkind words to self Report to assigned class/area

10 RMS in the Gym Sit in assigned area. Follow directions. Use equipment properly. Listen to and be kind to others.

11 RMS in the Classroom Listen to instructions. Speak in low voice. Respect classmates. Keep hands, feet, and unkind words to self.

13 REWARDS Students Will Be Rewarded Each Nine Weeks. Ice Cream 1 st 9 wks Movie & Popcorn2 nd 9 wks Chips & Drink3 rd 9 wks Fun Walk & Treat Trucks 4 th 9 wks End of Year 5 th & 6 th Palmetto Picnic 7 th & 8 th Bowling

14 Final Comments Everyone here at RMS wants you, the students, to have a positive and safe environment. We want you to enjoy learning and we want to reward those of you who make the school environment a positive and fun place to share academic experiences as well as social experiences.
