2 9 Weeks Test Notes  Louis Pasteur created a process that allowed people to drink milk without getting sick from germs.  Jonas Salk created a vaccine for polio.  Alexander Fleming created the first antibiotic, penicillin.

3 9 Weeks Test Notes  The hunter is also known as a predator.  The one that is being hunted is referred to as the prey.  An animal that only eats plants is an herbivore.  An animal that only eats meat is a carnivore

4 9 Weeks Test Notes  An animal that eats both plants and meat are called omnivores.  A plant with both male and female parts is called perfect.  A plant that reproduces an exact copy of itself uses asexual reproduction.  A plant that uses both male and female parts to reproduce uses sexual reproduction.

5 9 Weeks Test Notes  A decomposer breaks down and consumes dead material.  A consumer lives off of other living things.  A producer uses the Sun’s energy to produce food.  This part of the cell contains the DNA and RNA

6 9 Weeks Test Notes  The part of the cell protects the nucleus.  The part of the cell that gives the cell structure.  An animal with a spine and an internal skeleton.  An animal without a spine or internal skeleton.

7 9 Weeks Test Notes Parts of a plant The flower is responsible for the plants reproduction. The leaves use the Sun’s energy to make chlorophyll The stem helps to hold up the plant and provides a way to carry food and minerals throughout the plant The roots gather up minerals and moisture from the ground
