Triassic Period Jeremy_kassissie h

Environment The Triassic period was born 251 Million to 199 Million Years Ago The start of the Triassic period (and the Mesozoic era) was a desolate time in Earth's history. Something—a bout a violent volcanic eruptions, climate change, or perhaps a fatal run-in with a comet or asteroids.

Land The Triassic period was a transition from the Palaeozoic Era to the Mesozoic. It is situated between the end of the Permian period and the beginning of the Jurassic, lasting from 254 mya to 206 mya. As with almost any other period of the Earth's history, the Triassic had a unique climate and biota indigenous to that time.

Weather The Triassic Period (250-108 million years ago): In Triassic times, all of the earth's continents were joined together into a vast landmass called Pangaea (which was itself surrounded by an enormous ocean called Pathless). There were as yet no polar ice caps, and the climate was hot and dry, punctuated by violent monsoons.

Vegetation The Triassic period was followed by the biggest mass extinction in the history of the Earth, the Permian extinction. This left the Earth relatively unpopulated (especially the seas) and ready for new life.

Jurassic Period Jeremy Kassissieh

Environment Pangaea started to break apart during the Jurassic Period. The Atlantic Ocean opened to the west of Britain and the Americas drifted away from Europe. The Earth was relatively warm, sea levels were high and there were hardly any polar ice caps.

Land The giant continent Pangaea broke up into two landmasses known as Laurasia (in the north) and Gondwanaland (in the south). The budding Atlantic Ocean started to separate Eurasia and North America.

Weather Jurassic climate stayed warm and became more humid. The polar areas were ice-free during this Period.

Vegetation The rainfall on the lands was sufficient to support luxuriant vegetation. There were no ice-caps, and the seas were very warm and clear. Over wide areas old land areas were covered by shallow water.

Cretaceous Period JEREMY KASSISSIEH

Environment The world during the Cretaceous looked very different. Its continental arrangement was different, as was the 'flora and fauna' that survived in a very different climate.

Land During the late Cretaceous, land and seas continued to change and move. The climate of the world changed toward cooler and more seasonal weather. New types of plants and animals were appearing.

Weather There was a major change in the climate in the Cretaceous Period. During the Cretaceous Period the weather was very warm. It was considered "tropical." At around the ending of the Cretaceous Period, however, the temperature dropped making the climate very cold.

Vegetation The main innovation of the Cretaceous was the evolution of flowering plants, which spread across the separating continents, along with thick forests and other kinds of dense, matted vegetation.

Dinosaur Extinction Well some people believe that their two ways that dinosaurs got extinct the first reason is because the great flood the time when Noah built the ark and the massive earthquake and their was no sun it was just pitch black their was no air for them to breath in. So no one really knows what happened.
