5 Leading a self improving education system. What does it take?
System leadership. Leaders willing to spend time where they are most needed, including in other schools Engagement in research and ‘joint practice development’ – teachers and leaders learning and improving together. Practitioner led professional development. Joint accountability – peer scrutiny and review Capacity building for a new generation of system leaders and teachers Multi-level engagement, with strong leadership and a ‘guiding coalition’ Professional generosity, reciprocity and collective moral purpose M. Farrar

It can be accessed via KELSI, Kent and Medway Teaching School Network (KMTSN) website and KLZ Feedback any thoughts/comments by 31st July Editorial group will consider feedback September 2015 and amend strategy Final version to be launched at the Kent Association of Headteachers Conference 15th October 2015 How do Governors engage? Discuss with your leadership team and other governors Encourage your Headteacher to attend the KAH Conference Agenda item at District meetings Feedback your thoughts on the strategy Attend training/collaborative opportunities to develop leadership in your school Discuss specific aspects of the strategy with your Improvement Adviser
