1 Going Home

2 2 Cor. 5:1-10 For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. 2 For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven: 3 If so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked.

3 For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life. 5 Now he that hath wrought us for the selfsame thing is God, who also hath given unto us the earnest of the Spirit. 6 Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord:

4 7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)
8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. 9 Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him. 10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

16 8And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes.  9And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.

17 Why? We’ are going home.. And we want them to be with us!!

18 Observe #2 Serve Him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind.
a. You serve the Lord! b. How? With a perfect heart and a willing mind! 1. We can’t go home to be with God if we have not served Him …

19 Our service to God must be with our minds that are willing to do His will.
Listen to Jesus: John 9:4 Psalms 122:1

20 What kind of example are you?
Matt. 5:16 Matt. 6:33 2 Tim. 2:15 2 Tim. 1:5

21 We’re going home…and we need to get ready…

22 God knows You! He will cast thee off for ever.
He knows if you love Him and want to Be a servant of His. ..’for the Lord searcheth all hearts, and Understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts.” David told Solomon: “If thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, He will cast thee off for ever.

23 Many Christians seem to not know God…
and many more do not want to serve Him. “It is too hard…” We’re going home…That is where God is Forever…

24 Get up…let’s go To Bible Study 2 Tim. 2:15 To Worship John 4:23,24
To visit the sick Matt. 25:31-46 To help the afflicted Gal. 6:10 To weep with those that weep Rom. 12:15 To rejoice with those that rejoice

25 Will God welcome us home, when we have
not even served him with a complete heart and willing mind? David said: Solomon: serve God…with a Perfect heart and with a willing mind!

26 Observe #3 David told Solomon:
“v.10 Take heed now; for the Lord hath chosen thee to build a house for the Sanctuary: be strong, and do it. Solomon had a particular work to do for the Lord.

27 Christians….we have work to do.
James 1:22 Be ye doers of the word and not hearers only. Look at Paul: 2 Cor. 4:5 ‘our selves Your servants for Jesus sake” I Cor. 15:58 Be ye stedfast,…

28 In the language of David to Solomon:
Be Strong, and do it.” 2 Tim. 4:7,8

29 We’ re Going Home How beautiful Heaven must be! Will you
See it, or will you never enter Heaven. How many at O’Neal will never see Heaven? No tears in Heaven… Will you be finally home When death comes for you and all the tears You have shed here will be no more…no More crying…….. .

30 In God’s house are many mansions…. But
Will you live in one of them? John 14:1-6

31 Ready or Not, we’ll leave!
God says Ecc. 8:8 ..No one has power over the spirit to retain the spirit,       And no one has power in the day of death.       There is no release from that war,       And wickedness will not deliver those who are given to it.

32 Eccl. 12:7 7 Then the dust will return to the earth as it was,       And the spirit will return to God who gave it.

33 We’re Going Home 1. To see and be with God. John 14:1-3
