Passion is the God-given desire that compels us to make a difference in a particular ministry There is no right or wrong passion Passion answers the where question

Spiritual Gifts = What Personal style = How

1 Corinthians 12:1-3… Now about spiritual gifts, brothers, I do not want you to be ignorant. You know that when you were pagans, somehow or other you were influenced and led astray to mute idols. Therefore I tell you that no one who is speaking by the Spirit of God says, “Jesus be cursed,” and no one can say, “Jesus is Lord,” except by the Holy Spirit.

Spiritual Gifts are Special Abilities 1 Corinthians 12:7… Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.

Distributed By the Holy Spirit 1 Corinthians 12:11… All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he gives them to each one, just as he determines.

To every Believer according to God’s Design and Grace 1 Peter 4:10… Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms.

For the Common Good of the body of Christ 1 Corinthians 12:7… Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.

Spiritual gifts are Special Abilities distributed by the Holy Spirit to Every Believer to accomplish Spiritual Goals for the Common Good of the body of Christ.

Using Spiritual Gifts for the Common Good.

Uniqueness of Each Believer Now to each one the manifestation of the Holy Spirit is given for the common good. (1 Cor. 12:7)

All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and He gives them to each one, just as He determines. (1 Cor. 12:11) Uniqueness of Each Believer

But in fact God has arranged the parts in the body, every one of them, just as He wanted them to be. (1 Cor. 12:18)

We have a unique role to play because we have a unique design

Diversity of Believers 1 Corinthians 12:4-6… There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but the same God works all of them in all men.

DifferentSame Gift Service Workings Spirit Lord God

1 Corinthians 12:8-10… To one there is given through the Spirit the message of wisdom, to another the message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit,

to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues.

Functioning Biblically with Each Other

Interdependence of believers in the church DependenceIndependence Interdependence

Romans 12:5… so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. 1 Corinthians 12:27… Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.

Diversity is not division We are all diverse, but we’re called to serve without division.

1 Corinthians 12:20-21… As it is, there are many parts, but one body. The eye cannot say to the hand, “I don't need you!” And the head cannot say to the feet, “I don't need you!”

1 Corinthians 12:25-26… So that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other. If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it.

Unity is not conformity Unity is not achieved by being alike Unity is achieved by having the same purpose: Glorify God Edify others

1 Corinthians 12:17-20… If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing be? If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be? But in fact God has arranged the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be. If they were all one part, where would the body be? As it is, there are many parts, but one body.

1 Corinthians 12:29-30… Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles? Do all have gifts of healing? Do all speak in tongues? Do all interpret?
