4. Cyfartha Castle, Wales On June 2 nd 1940, children from Folkestone County School for Girls and the Harvey Grammar School for Boys were evacuated to Cyfartha Castle near Merthyr Tydfil in Wales. Over 3000 children from the area were evacuated.
