6 TARJA HALONEN  Born in Helsinki on the 24 th of December, 1943  Graduated from the University of Helsinki and has a diploma of a lawyer  Is the first woman who has been elected as a president.

7 JEAN SIBELIUS  1865-1957  In 1885 he entered the Law Department, and he soon joined the Music Institute  Wrote the national anthem of Finland  Died in Järvenpää September 20, 1957

8 VILLE HAAPASALO  Was born in February 28, 1972 in Lahti  At the age of 19 he moved to St. Petersburg to study at the Theatre Academy  Graduated it in 1995.  Became famous after the films: The Peculiarities of the National Hunt, Love in the City and other TV projects.

9 CARL GUSTAF EMIL MANNERHEIM  1867-1951  Lieutenant-General of the Russian army, a professional soldier and politician, one of the central figures in Finnish history.  The commander of the Finnish army in all the wars fought by an independent Finland, the sixth president of the country.

10 TOVE JANSSON  1914-2001  Famous Finnish-Swedish writer and artist.  Gained worldwide fame for her books about the Moomin.  She Wrote her books in Swedish

11 PAAVO NURMI  1897-1973  Famous Finnish runner, nine Olympic gold medalist.  He had three gold and a silver medal at the Olympics in 1920 in Antwerp, five gold medals at the Olympics 1924 in Paris, a gold and two silver medals at the Olympics in 1928 in Amsterdam.

12 LINUS TORVALDS  Was born in December 28, 1969  Finnish programmer, the creator of the core open-source operating system Linux, is for free (in opposite to Microsoft Windows).  The owner of the trademark Linux.

13 JOULUPUKKI  Joulupukki was the name of the Finnish Santa Claus, who lives in Mount Korvatunturi (the Arctic Circle) with his wife Muori, deers and dwarfs.  In Finland, Santa Claus does not climb the chimney, and knocks on doors and personally gives presents to good children.
