Edgar Allan Poe was born on January 19,1809, in Boston, Massachusetts. His parents died when he was a small boy. And Edgar was taken in by Frances and John Allan who lived in Richmond, Virginia. In 1827 his first book “Tamerlane and other poems”, was published. Then in 1829 his second book was published it was called “Al Araaf”. He won a contest for some of his poems that were published in a newspaper in 1833. He became a contributor and editor of the Southern Literary Messenger. He Married his cousin when he was 27 and she ( Virginia ) was 13. After they married, in 1836, they moved to New York City. A 15+ SENTENCE BIOGRAPHY ON E.A. POE (SLIDE 1 OF 2)

He published his only completed novel in 1838, it was called “The Narrative of Arthur Gordon Pym.” Virginia died in 1847, which led Edgar to become and avid acolholic. Edgar died on October 7,1849. No one knew how he died but there are many theories such as, alcohol, medical, disease, and murder. He is buried at Poe Memorial grave in the Old Westminster graveyard. BIOGRAPHY

My theory of Poe’s death is him getting drunk and dying from overdose. I believe this is the correct theory, because it said that after his wife Virginia died he became and alcoholic due to stress and mourning. He also seems like the kind of guy who would commit suicide by drinking, because he was always telling stories of people dying in very creepy ways. I think people were always thinking he was weird, because he definitely must have gotten weird looks when he married Virginia when he was 27 and she was still a teenager at 13 years old. POE’S DEATH

My favorite Edgar Allan Poe story is the “Tell Tale Heart”. Because, it was very suspenseful and it was very wicked. It was suspenseful, because it told you how the murderer walked into the room and then the victim sat awake on his bed staring blankly into the empty room for one hour before he fell back asleep and the killer went in. That part was suspenseful because you didn’t know when the victim might notice the killer right outside his door and then call the police on him. It was wicked and creepy because the killer only wanted to kill the guy because every time he talked to him the victims eye would distract him and he was sick and tired of that eye so he killed him for only that one reason. And then he put his dead limp body under the floorboards. And when the police came to investigate he talked calmly at first but then towards the end he couldn’t bear it anymore and he told the police about the dead man under the floorboards. MY FAVORITE STORY

And then he put his dead limp body under the floorboards. And when the police came to investigate he talked calmly at first but then towards the end he couldn’t bear it anymore and he told the police about the dead man under the floorboards. FAVORITE STORY

Poe is like the father of horror stories, because he was obnoxiously good at writing them to the point where you would be scared for your life around him. I made lots of connections with other horror films and stories compared to Poe’s but none were better his were the absolute best. CONCLUSION
