PCT Data Management Practices - National M&E capabilities/capacity oSome capacity in place for LF, STH and SCH programmes oOther NTDs very weak oNTD programme staff need training on M&E oLack of standardized reporting forms and databases Flow and reporting of data oNeed to strengthen information from non-MoH sources oLittle information on efficiency and effectiveness Feedback mechanisms oUnknown how data goes from national programmes to district/IU level

PCT Data Management Practices – Regional M&E capabilities/capacity oRegional action plan 2012-2016 includes indicators, definitions, and targets oShortage of NTD staff in the Region Flow and reporting of data oSubmission of annual JAP provides information on coverage, prevalence, and impact o2013 data was presented during the 14 th RPRG meeting. Revisions are still coming. 2014 data is still incomplete. Feedback mechanisms oCommunication through WHO country offices oThrough programme managers meetings

PCT Data Quality Timeliness: oMost annual reports are in by July oUpdated reports sent throughout the year Completeness: oJAP requires programme managers to complete the information requested for LF, STH and SCH oDifficulty in reflecting the information from SCH programmes (as they target all ages at risk in endemic areas) oFBT is not reported through JAP Accuracy/validity: oVery few countries conducting coverage surveys Integrity: oConfidentiality and ownership issues including publication of the data/information - not yet addressed

Programme Evaluation RPRG annual meeting to review the progress in the Region National: –SCH review in Philippines, Cambodia and Lao PDR (2012) –STH reviews in Philippines and Viet Nam postponed

Priority M&E needs - 2 National needs –In general, as countries start to develop dossiers M&E needs increase both in “verification” and post MDA and post elimination surveillance –Philippines: Harmonize NTD databases and develop SCH M&E plan –PNG: integration of NTD M&E (i.e. LF, leprosy, STH, buruli ulcer) –M&E on intersectoral collaboration (i.e. animal health, education, WASH)
