8   Rank in the top 10 in the nation in the percentage of students passing the GED® test.  Implement Microsoft IT Academy Certification in adult education centers.  Gain additional funding to support adult education centers. Goals

9   Ensure the Standards of a Quality Adult Education Program are implemented across the state.  Ensure grant funds are administered in accordance with applicable State and Federal laws. Goals

10   Increased professional development trainings by 28%  Marketing: Radio and TV show appearances, Promotional Video and Newspaper write-ups  44 adult education programs offer Microsoft IT Academy certification to students  Received funds from Senators English and Chesterfield to offset the cost of the GED  test Accomplishments

11   100% Site Visit and Program Review Rate  84 AE staff completed Career Development Facilitator training  44 Adult Education Programs currently (5 fewer than the year prior)  Conducted 10 financial audit reviews to be in compliance with federal and state laws Accomplishments

12   Received $970,974 for meeting 2012-13 performance measures (split with AR Works program)  Used funds to hire 6 Adult Education Career Coaches  17 adult education centers, covering approximately 30 counties, currently being served by career coaches. Workforce Incentive Grant (WIA) Award

13   Designed to provide students returning to school to obtain their GED ® the opportunity to earn postsecondary credentials in high-demand occupations through dual enrollment.  The four (4) colleges & adult education programs selected: ASU-Beebe: Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) and Welding. College of the Ouachitas: Medical Office Assistant and Computer Information Systems. Cossatot Community College: Cosmetology and Welding. Mid-South Community College: Machining and Welding. Accelerating Opportunity

14   Provided professional training and development to adult education and literacy council directors.  Programs selected goals for their center to report each week to the state office.  Programs report red, yellow, or green each week. Covey Training

15 Wildly Important Goals (WIGs) Increase statewide customer satisfaction by 20% from October 1, 2013 to March 1, 2014 Increase statewide educational gains from 22% to 43% by April 2014 Pretty Important Goals (PIGs) Increase statewide enrollment by 13% over last year’s from 22,516 to 25,443 by June 30, 2014 Increase statewide the number of contact hours of students from 1,511,390.71 to 1,662,529.78 by June 30, 2014
