Below are some simple instructions on how to use this template:
1. You can change the text in the graphical screen above or in the outline area to the left. 2. There is one default background that is indicated by “ ” .This slide acts as a space or a blank screen, use to clear or blank the screen. If you have a large graphic such as a map you could also use this screen. If you insert a new slide you will get this default background.
3. The first five slides have the other backgrounds for the set. To use more than one of these background types in your presentation highlight the one you wish to use and choose copy from the edit menu. Paste this slide where you want it to appear in your presentation, then change the text on this new slide. By copy/pasting the slide in this manor you will keep the background, text formatting and the customized animation from that slide. By using the copy/paste method you find it saves you time and keeps a consistent look through out your presentation.

2. Missionary Special Sowing Seed on Various Soils Mat 13:2-23; Mark 4:1-20; Luke 8:4-18

3. 1 Peter 1:23, “For you have been born again not of seed which is perishable but imperishable, that is, through the living and enduring word of God.”

4. The parable of seed sown. Mark 4:1-20

5. The Unbeliever: “Beside the Road” Mat 13:19; Mark 4:15; Luke 8:12

6. This is the Common Grace Ministry of God the Holy Spirit.

7. Mat 13:19 “When anyone hears the word of the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one (PONEROS – toilsome/bad), comes and snatches away what has been sown in his heart. This is the one on whom seed was sown beside the road.”

8. “Understand it” – SUNIEMI, “to set together, bring together, or come to an agreement.” “They do not mix it with faith!”

9. Luke 8:12, “Those beside the road are those who have heard; then the devil (DIABOLOS - slanderer), comes and takes away the word from their heart, so that they will not believe and be saved.”

10. The evil one, Satan, the devil takes away the seed by clouding the unbeliever’s soul with cosmic viewpoint.

11. The Rocky Soil Believer: Mat 13:21; Mark 4:17; Luke 8:13

12. Mat 13:21, “Yet he has no firm root in himself, but is only temporary, and when affliction or persecution arises because of the word, immediately he falls away.”

13. The action comes from their Old Sin Nature in Emotional Revolt of the Soul (ERS).

14. Luke 8:13, “Those on the rocky soil are those who, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no firm root; they believe for a while, and in time of temptation fall away.”

15. The Thorny Soil Believer: Mat 13:22; Mark 4:18-19; Luke 8:14

16. Mat 13:22, “And the one on whom seed was sown among the thorns, this is the man who hears the word, and the worry of the world and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful.”

17. In Mark - “Desires” EPITHUMIA, “desire, passionate longing, or lust.”

18. Luke 8:14, “The seed which fell among the thorns, these are the ones who have heard and as they go on their way they are choked with worries and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to maturity.” Compare with 1 John 2:15-17

19. The Good Soil Believer: Mat 13:23; Mark 4:20; Luke 8:15

20. Mat 13:23, “And the one on whom seed was sown on the good soil, this is the man who hears the word and understands it; who indeed bears fruit and brings forth, some a hundredfold, some sixty, and some thirty.”

21. “Understands it”, same verb as in Mat 13:19, SUNIEMI, to mix it with faith!

22. In Mark, “Accept it”, PARADECHOMAI: “To receive or admit.”

23. Luke 8:15, “But the seed in the good soil, these are the ones who have heard the word in an honest (beautiful) and good heart, and hold it fast, and bear fruit with perseverance.”

24. “Hold it fast” - KATECHO: “To hold fast, hold back.”

25. In this 4 tiered parable the sower was not being selective as to where and when he would sow. He just sowed!
