 Numerous amount of people have searched the ocean’s floor for many years  Although it has been explored there has been much that is still needed to be explored  The reason why various people don’t explore the deep ocean floor is simply because the water pressure changes  Once at the bottom the water starts to get colder and colder  The tallest mountains aren’t found in actual land, they are usually found at the bottom of the ocean Rarely known about the Ocean

Once scientists were able to map the ocean they found out the ocean floor was not flat. The way the ocean floor is formed is amazing The earth has layers, the outer layer is thin and rocky Thick layer between the crust and the core is the mantle The mantle has hot liquid called magma It flows out of the mantle and through the cracks in the crust The magma on the earth’s floor is known as lava it gets hard to make new crust How the ocean’s floor is created

What exactly are the ocean’s features? Continental shelf-edge of a continent covered by ocean water Continental slope-a rise at the edge of a continental shelf Continental rise-gatherings of sediments at the base of a continental slope Submarine canyon- valley in the continental slope and shelf Submarine fan-gatherings of land sediment beneath the ocean Mid-ocean ridge-system of mountain ranges beneath the ocean

What exactly are the ocean’s features? Ocean trench-Valley in the oceanic crust that are in the bottom of the ocean Guyot- flat topped submerged seamount Seamounts-volcanic mountains beneath the ocean the they are 1,000 meters high Abyssal plain- a level place of the ocean floor where the deepness is mostly more than 4 km Oceanic islands-Islands that rise up from the floors of the ocean basins

Pictures Illustrating how the Ocean’s features look

 The sea level has risen about 4-10 inches in the past 100 years  10,oo years ago the ocean level was 330 ft lower than it s now  The ocean floor is where the most dangerous volcanoes take place  More than 90% of the world’s living organisms are found in the deep ocean called the Abyss. Shocking Facts of the ocean floor
