7 Write a children’s story (pg. 24) about Celine the Cell. Include at least 1 picture (in color) of your character. Your story should answer the following questions: -What do the cell, nucleus, chromosome, gene, and DNA look like? -What are the cell, nucleus, chromosome, gene, and DNA? -Where are they, compared to each other? Are some of them made of other ones? -Why do cells divide? Having trouble starting? One day, Celine the Cell wondered, “Why am I a human blood cell?” I mean, it was a good question: why wasn’t she a jellyfish stinger cell, or a grass cell, or a cell in the horn of a furry, brown moose?

8 Some Things to Consider Before You Start Writing What kind of story is it? An adventure, a scary story, a comedy, etc.? A good story has a plot that comes to a conclusion. How will you wrap up your story, in a meaningful way? What is the setting? Who are the characters? What is the tone you will use? What kind of words can you use to add interest and excitement?
