10 901 New York Avenue Washington, D.C. Greg Blatt Construction Management POUR SEQUENCING FOUNDATION REDESIGN LEED Sequencing Conclusion One week was saved due to the schedule acceleration. Other trades can begin their work earlier. This allows the occupants to move into their spaces earlier. The owner will be able to start to make money on building at an earlier date.

12 901 New York Avenue Washington, D.C. Greg Blatt Construction Management POUR SEQUENCING FOUNDATION REDESIGN LEED Foundation Redesign Change from column footings to a mat foundation Potential savings in the schedule Mat foundation will be more expensive (extra materials & labor) Economical comparison

18 901 New York Avenue Washington, D.C. Greg Blatt Construction Management POUR SEQUENCING FOUNDATION REDESIGN LEED Foundation Conclusion Mat foundation costs approximately $810,000 more than the column footings. Mat foundation is estimated to take 10 more days to complete than the column footings. Overall, the column footings were a better choice as a foundation system for this project.

20 901 New York Avenue Washington, D.C. Greg Blatt Construction Management POUR SEQUENCING FOUNDATION REDESIGN LEED LEED Certification Analyze the project to check if it meets the minimum LEED Certification requirements. If it does not meet those requirements, suggest ways to get the project to an acceptable certification level.

25 901 New York Avenue Washington, D.C. Greg Blatt Construction Management POUR SEQUENCING FOUNDATION REDESIGN LEED LEED Conclusion The original design would not meet LEED Certification requirements. By implementing the suggested items, 33 credits were obtained for the certification process. The suggested items led to a rating of Silver for the project.

26 901 New York Avenue Washington, D.C. Greg Blatt Construction Management Conclusions Pour Sequencing – Accelerated the schedule by 1 week Foundation Redesign – Column footings are a better choice than a mat foundation LEED Certification – Changes could be implemented to reach a minimum certification level.
