Avenet eFolio Overview eFolioMinnesota Avenet eFolio and the Minnesota State College and University System (MnSCU) have worked together since 2001 to build and deploy the industry-leading, award- winning electronic portfolio system for Minnesota and other states. This powerful, flexible eFolio system is being utilized by institutions ranging from K-12, colleges and universities in several states and workforce centers.

3. Avenet eFolio Overview When MnSCU started this effort... The Minnesota State College and University System (MnSCU) includes 33 institutions serving over 365,000 students. Avenet was selected in a nationwide RFP process and developed and deployed the first version of eFolioMinnesota in 2002. eFolioMN has won national and international recognition, including awards from Campus Technology & the Council on State Governments for “Technology Innovation”. www.efoliomn.com

4. Avenet eFolio Overview eFolio Minnesota Today Based on independent assessment and user statistics, eFolio Minnesota is one of the premier electronic portfolio projects in the world. Today there are over 75,000 registered users in Minnesota alone and projections for rapid continued growth. eFolio has been ‘adopted’ by K-12, higher education, and workforce organizations, which have enhanced the system to meet their unique needs.

5. Avenet eFolio Overview Broad, Flexible Use of eFolio Individuals – both as a student and later as a job search tool. Within a class/course – as a repository for assignments and / or reflections. For a program area – overall assessment or competencies, or as a capstone project. Institution – custom branded core templates with flexibility for program areas; institutional identity or portfolio; support for assessment and career services strategies.

6. Avenet eFolio Overview Product Successes Research on eFolioMinnesota was released in Summer 2005. Some highlights:  Top three uses are documenting KSA’s, educational planning, and finding work (the greatest percent of satisfied users are those using it for educational planning);  1/3 of the survey respondents use eFolio in a role other than that which they signed up for;  Ownership is a key factor for users along with ease of use;  Giving a chance for users to experiment on their “web self” is vital.
