Water pollution is the main cause of the change in colour of the river water. How does water become dirty? You saw in the pictures that as the river flowed through many villages, towns and cities the water changed. The people used the river water for many different things such as washing clothes,

7 Bathing animals and cleaning utensils.
Many of these activities made water dirty. Have you seen dirty water in the river or pond? The water in the river keep changing as it flowed through various places. Where the water of rivers goes? Have you ever been near a river or sea? Is the water from the sea drinkable?

8 Why the water of the sea is not drinkable?
Are there any changes in the water during summers, the rainy seasons and in winters? What kind of trees and plants grow around it ?

9 Have you ever seen or read about floods?
What happens when there is flood? Have you ever read about Drought? Floods and drought are man made changes or natural change?
