5 Phillip Dinh, Fofanova, 1301, UH Computer Virus  A computer virus is a computer program that can copy itself and infect a computer without permission or knowledge of the user.  A virus can only spread from one computer to another when its host is taken to the uninfected computer.

6 Phillip Dinh, Fofanova, 1301, UH How To Get A Virus A user sends the virus over a network Installing the virus from a removable medium such as a CD or USB drive. Opening an unknown e-mail attachment

7 Phillip Dinh, Fofanova, 1301, UH Antivirus Software Antivirus software consists of computer programs that attempt to identify and eliminate computer viruses and other malicious software. Antivirus software typically uses two different techniques to accomplish this: Scanning files to look for known viruses Identifying suspicious behavior from any computer program which might indicate infection.
