3 3 Propagation Tips Relatively slow rooters – Root emergence in about 11-12 days 4.5-5 weeks rooting time for 102-105 size plugs Misting – Keep adequate misting until roots develop Don’t let cuttings dry out --- will lead to uneven rooting and leaf burn Temperatures – ideally 72-74 F (22-23 C) Lower than 70 F (21 C) will delay rooting and growth PGRs – Usually not needed unless longer rooting times are used -B-Nine® (3500 ppm) or B-Nine® (2500 ppm) + Cycocel® (1000 ppm) spray -Bonzi® liner dips at 1 ppm Will form an early terminal flower bud Pinch in prop (if possible) down to 1-2 nodes or shortly after transplant to encourage lateral branching

7 7 Starcluster ™ Pentas - Finishing Tips Need warm temperatures and high light intensity – Plants are slow starters – optimum 68 F ADT or higher Cold temperatures and nights below 60 F will lead to slow growth Light accumulators - will flower faster as DLI and temperature increases Irrigation - Keep plants moderately moist throughout production Don’t let plants wilt – will lead to slow growth and leaf scorch Fertilization – moderate feeders pH 5.8-6.2 (not as sensitive to low pH Fe/Mn toxicity as seed pentas) PGRs – use only if needed Bonzi drenches at 3-4 ppm or B-Nine sprays at 3500-5000 ppm Will form early terminal flower buds Pinch in prop if possible or shortly after transplant ©2013 Syngenta.
