Quick-write #1, to be completed in your Notebook.  Stamp your Venn Diagram from yesterday if you have at least 5 items in each section.  Review your answers from your Venn Diagram as a group.  2. Quick-write #2, based on a ‘Baldo’ comic.  3. ‘Investing Basics,’ Guidebook page 78.  4. Workbook pages 97, ‘Credit & Interest’ and 98 ‘Investing Basics’.  5. Update your books for Friday.

2 Objectives, 4/12/2011  Students Shall;  Explain what is a future goal each one has that will require disciplined financial responsibility.  Compose a statement explain how a credit card company could increase their profits.  Examine how much can be potential earned with proper investment.

Quick-write, you will be writing your own quotes.  You will turn these in.  3. Guidebook page 79, Compounding Interest  4. Balancing Your Budget, Guidebook page 80 (this will be very simple by now).  5. Workbook pages 99 & 100. Make sure your answers take up the entire available space you can use to write.  6. Can you make your own budget? Let’s try.  7. Make sure your Guidebook & Workbook are ready for Friday.

6 Objectives, 4/13/2011  Students Shall;  Compose there original quotes on financial responsibility.  Examine the effects of compound interest.  Create your own budget with $4,000  Prepare your Guidebook and Workbook for Fri.

7 Agenda 4/14/2011  1. Use your Notebook to interpret 2 quotes &  Take out your Guidebook to stamp pages 79 & 80 and  Workbook pages 99 & 100.  2. Guidebook page 81, ‘Money Managing Tips’.  3. Can you make your own budget? Let’s try.  You will practice writing cheques (or checks) & balancing your account with a sample check register.  4. Homework;  Workbook page 100, Money Managing Tips.  Go to californiarealitycheck.org and create your budget if you lived in Fresno.  I will give you extra credit if you also create your budget if you lived in city found in Southern & Northern California.  5. Make sure your Guidebook & Workbook are ready for Friday.

How much money are you willing to save a month.

13 Agenda, 4/15/2011  Take out your Guidebook & Workbook.  Trade & grade them with a teacher selected partner.  Make sure that you do not make mistakes on the math.  As soon as you finish you need to work on the budget assignment from yesterday.  Here’s some suggestions;  Use check # 1002  You can use yesterday’s date for the first check you write.  Remember to write checks/cheques for each transaction.  Update your Check register.  Homework: californiarealitycheck.org create a budget living in Fresno.  Extra credit, create a budget if you lived in a city in Northern California and Southern California

14 Objectives, 4/15/2011  Students Shall;  Grade the student Guidebook & Workbook and earn at least a score of 80%.  Practice balancing their ideal budget with $4,000 a month this will include;  Writing individual cheques (checks)for each transaction and…  Balancing a check register.

15 Balancing your budget  Housing- Apartment, House, Condo?  Utilities-Phone, Electricity, Water, Cable/Satellite TV, Internet  Food-Grocery Shopping, Dining Out  Clothes- How much do you spend on your wardrobe?  Health Care- Health Insurance, Doctor’s Visits, Dental Visits, Optometrist Visits.  Transportation-Car payments, New or Used Car Vehicle, Public transportation, Insurance, Maintenance.  Personal Upkeep- Gym, Haircuts, Spa, etc.  Miscellaneous-Anything extra.  Savings. How much money are you willing to save a month.
