1 1 Diameter SIP application draft-ietf-aaa-diameter-sip-app-03.txt Miguel.An.Garcia@nokia.com 60 th IETF meeting August 3 rd, 2004 Status

2 2 Versions –02 and –03 released since IETF 59. Draft –03 is currently in WGLC, ending August 26 th. Invitation to send comments to the mailing list and authors. Looking for committed reviewers. A reviewer can review a few sections only. Need to analyze compatibility with draft-sterman-aaa-sip

3 3 Last changes Last changes in version -03: Diameter Subscriber Locator is implemented only as a Diameter redirect node (i.e., not as a Diameter relay). "Registration termination" Section has been rewritten. Now the procedures speak about SIP soft state management, rather than SIP registration, so this procedures are applicable to SIP event subscriptions as well. A discussion on how to couple Diameter user sessions with SIP soft states is also added. Added a new Digest-Expected-Response AVP that allows the Diameter server to send a pre-calculated expected digest response to the Diameter client. This is only applicable to the case when the SIP UA does not use client nounces. The Authentication Details Section has been updated with the latest details of the authentication process.

4 4 Open Issue Issues tracker at: http://danforsberg.info:8080/draft-ietf-aaa-diameter-sip/ Open issue 14: support for qop=auth-int qop=auth-int needs to create a hash of, among other things, the body of a SIP response But the Diameter server does not know the body of the response. Proposal: the SIP server creates the hash upon indication from Diameter server.
