3. 1. RMK - Facts
Rashtriya Mahila Kosh(RMK) established in 1993 as Autonomous Organization of the Ministry of Women & Child Development.
The only national-level micro-finance organization, in the government sector, exclusively for poor women.
Providing collateral free micro-credit as well as support for capacity building and marketing linkage.
Pioneer in establishing unique micro-finance delivery model in India
Online remittance of loans and recovery thereof from intermediary organizations
Strengthening envisaged: Corpus to be raised from ` 100 Cr to ` 500 Cr 3

5. 3. Capacity Building & Skill Development Programmes
RMK organizes for its own IMOs the Exposure visits and Capacity Building Programs (CBP) on Credit Management, Mentoring, Recovery etc.
CBP for IMOs are organized at NIPCCD Regional Centres on SHG promotion & Development and issues relating to micro - finance & income generation activities.
Awareness Seminars & workshops are organized to identify and train potential NGOs to bring them in the ambit of RMK. 5

6. 3. Capacity Building & Skill Development Programmes …
Skill Development Programs (SDP) organized in accredited Govt. Organizations / NGOs/ Research Institutions/ Academic Institutions etc.
Specific skill trainings arranged, as per demand e.g. animal husbandry, dairy farming, dairy products, crop-cultivation, artificial-jewelery designing, non-conventional energy (Solar Dhaba), handloom & handicrafts etc.
Support for participation in Trade Fairs like Vatsalya Mela in Delhi Haat & Pragati Maidan to display and market SHG products; also provided for similar regional/State trade fairs 6

8. 5. Impact Evaluation of RMK Beneficiaries
Evaluation studies conducted in and 2010 revealed following impact–
Beneficiaries coverage:
Rural 84%; Urban 16%; 86% BPL
Majority of women beneficiaries reported:
Increase in household income and expenditure
Improvement in food consumption pattern
Increase in acquisition of Household Assets - TV, Fridge, Fan, Telephone etc
Increased access to medical facility & education, particularly for girl child
Increase in their self confidence, social status and security.
Improvement in over-all standard of living; and
decrease in domestic violence. 8
