2 Lesson Highlights God gave his people the Bible, one segment or book at a time, in languages they could understand: Hebrew and Greek. God's love in our own day inspires men and women to translate the gospel into many languages, so that all people can hear the story of God and his people. God has blessed us with the opportunity to share the gift of his Word with others who many not have had the opportunity or knowledge to acquire their own Bibles.

6 Bible Languages Display teacher resource sheet a on pg. 75 Identify the verse and the languages.

7 Question: Are any of these languages (Spanish, Koronko, Dutch, French,or Krio) the original language of the Bible?

8 Bible Languages Have volunteers read the first two paragraphs of "Bible Languages" (page 7) in the student text. Distribute activity sheet 1. Students will work in pairs. After a few minutes, discuss the answers.

10 Bible Languages Turn to "GGNL WRBH HT" (page 7) in the student text.

11 Bible Languages Read aloud Genesis 22:18. Question: In what language was this blessing originally written? Answer: Hebrew

12 Guess or decipher each song title.

13 Bible Languages Together examine the Greek version of John 3:16 (page 8) in the student text. Then read "TheGreekLanguage" (page 7) in the student text.

14 Bible Languages Question: What Old Testament story symbolizes the differences and distance between people Answer: The story of Babel records the time when languages were confused and people were spread out among many nations.

15 Bible Languages Question: What kind of modern career can bring people back together again? Answer: Answers will vary, but Bible translators can spread the love of Jesus, a love that unites all people.
