1 Introduction Natural World Products Ltd started processing brown bins 4 years ago Operate scheme for 3 local councils: Banbridge – 8,500 brown bins Newry & Mourne – 10,000 brown bins Armagh – 7,000 brown bins Last year NWP processed 5,395 tonnes of material and all of the councils have plans to distribute more brown bins.

5 Project results Banbridge ----- Jan 2003-Dec2003 12 month collection period 2425.13 tonnes brown bin collected Each household produces approx. 1 and a quarter tonnes of waste per year 40-50% of this is compostable and 80% can be recycled
