1 TriDAS 2005-05 1 Equipment database Equipment database is partially built (Oracle). Currently consists of 2 separate databases.  DB I – database containing data extracted and converted from data used by the ORCA simulation  trigger centric ORCA C++ CODE (A. Kalinowski, M. Konecki, Giacomo Bruno) TEXT FILE ORACLE DB For each logical strip recognized by a PAC:  PAC segment and sector,  log plane, log strip... physical strips logical strips link name chamber name Splitter Boards Trigger Boards, inputs links PAC’s

2 TriDAS 2005-05 2 DB II  DB II – link system database based on Excel files prepared by Flavio Loddo, Tonio Ranieri, Maciek Kudla Excel files ORACLE DB  Link Boxes  Link Boards  Control Boards  Links  Feb cables  Connector types  I2C cables … All data from Excel files converted to relational database tables Java framework for accessing and manipulating database data is built using Hibernate 3 Web based GUI interface for equipment database is being developed using JavaServer Faces technology

3 TriDAS 2005-05 3 Integration DB I and DB II are not integrated with each other  data from DB I must be migrated to DB II The databases are not integrated with RPC equipment database  We must have one common equipment database for the whole RPC Trigger system We have started building the configuration database. It will allow to define configuration parameters dynamically, without a necessity to change the database schema. Each parameter definition will have its metadata – name, description, type, purpose (for what kind of run/firmware it should be used). Parameters will be grouped in sets, and assigned to equipment (partitions) and type of run.

4 TriDAS 2005-05 4 Software Status Device access classes – ready for built hardware (we use Internal Interface framework) I 2 C access from LB’s (through the FEC/CCU chain) to FEB’s – implemented and tested Access to monitoring blocks (histograms, diagnostic readout) - ready We currently migrate the software from proprietary framework to Linux and the XDAQ environment: All classes (except from GUI) compile on Linux Ready command line Linux application for controlling LinkBox – can be adapted to be used for commissioning Prototype of XDAQ application used for DCS (access to RPC FEBs) will be ready in a couple of weeks (May/June) – it is now the highest priority.
