Two lines that cross

A line goes on forever A line segment ends at two points

A right angle is an angle that is 90 degrees

A point is an exact location in space.

A polygon with four right angles, two sets of parallel lines, and four vertices.

An angle that is less than 90 degrees.

A pentagon is a polygon that has 5 sides and 5 vertices.

An obtuse angle is an angle that is more than 90 degrees.

A hexagon is a polygon with 6 sides.

Parallel lines are lines that never intersect.

A rectangular prism is a three-dimensional shape that has 2 square sides and 4 rectangular sides.

A rectangle is a quadrilateral that has 4 right angles and 2 set of parallel lines

A right triangle is a triangle with a right angle

a trapezoid is a quadrilateral that has 4 sides and 1 set of parallel lines.

Is a triangle with only 2 equal sides

A rhombus is a quadrilateral with 2 sets of parallel lines, and all sides are the same.

A scalene triangle is a triangle with no sides equal.

A cone is a three- dimensional shape that has a circle on the bottom.

A square pyramid is a three- dimensional shape that has 4 triangles, and 1 square on the bottom.

Perpendicular lines are lines that make a right angle

A ray is a line that has one endpoint and goes on and on in one direction.

A cube is a three- dimensional shape that has 8 vertices, 6 square faces, and 12 edges.

A sphere is three- dimensional has 0 faces, 0 edges, and 0 vertices.

A cylinder is a three-dimensional shape that has 0 vertices, 0 edges, and 2 circular faces.

 An octagon is a polygon with 8 sides.

 A circle is a shape with no sides or vertices.

 A parallelogram is a quadrilateral where opposite sides are congruent and has 2 sets of parallel lines.

Devin and Evan had lots of fun finding lots of shapes out in nature and man made things, although Kayla didn’t like the project. All of the shapes we took were real life pictures we found outside, in the classroom, and in the hallway. As you can see, geometry is everywhere..
