3. Atmospheric air pressure:

Over the summer Ms. Jones needed less air for her car tires. When the weather started to get cold for Fall, her “check tire pressure” light came on in her car.
In the summer the air is a lot warmer so the molecules are moving around a lot. The tire expands and you not need as much air because the pressure in the tires is high enough. In the winter, when the air is cold, the molecules are moving very slowly. Many people need to add more air to their tires because there is not enough pressure.

16. Air pressure decreases as altitude increases
Temperature varies within each layer as the altitude increases:
-Temperature decreases in troposphere
-Temperature increases in stratosphere
-Temperature is coldest in mesosphere
-Temperature is highest (but not HOT) in thermosphere
-Temperature increases in exosphere
Air pressure decreases as altitude increases
The troposphere is the densest layer because of gravity pressing down on it.
