3 Why It Matters Kennedy’s determination to change life at home resulted in his domestic agenda called the New Frontier. Faced with a conservative Congress, Kennedy met with opposition as he fought to turn his vision into a reality. Still, he had some success in making changes in Social Security benefits, dealing with poverty and racial discrimination, and spurring new interest and expectations for the space program.

4 Things to Know What was the “New Frontier?” – President Kennedy’s vision for America. It was created to improve the economy, education, healthcare, and civil rights. What was one component of JFK’s New Frontier? – Equality for all Americans, no matter their race or gender.

6 Things to Know What was deficit spending used for during the Kennedy administration? – It was a strategy used by JFK to improve the economy as a part of the “new economics” theory. 7 Things to Know What effect did the Cold War have on the American space program? – Competition with the Soviet Union spurred American space missions. What project was a part of the “Space Race?” – The Project Mercury flights.
