9 © 2006 Formic Activating and Deactivating Projects When the project design is complete the project must be activated to proceed with the printing, scanning, and processing of forms or deployment to web, tablet or PDA : Unique SQL database created Project becomes read only Deactivate to edit

13 © 2006 Formic Scanning Forms Capture image and data from the form by: Scan and Store: Check job properties: –Paper size –Paper source –Simplex or duplex Put forms in scanner and use to scan Data and images saved to database (more options available with FormStore)

14 © 2006 Formic Processing Data Process data to recognise characters, correct errors, and enter comments to the project database: Select: then use to process Tickboxes and correct any errors Select: then use to run character recognition for Handwriting Recognition Objects Select: then use to correct any suspect characters Select: then use to enter comments from Manual Image Areas. OR, select: then use to run through the processing for all objects

18 © 2006 Formic Using the Rapid Response System Use the Rapid Response System to check data entries to the database, edit data, create new respondents, or reprint form images: Tools menu > Rapid Response System Scroll between records and fields Edit data Use to accept changes Add new respondent and enter data directly to SQL database Change image view Print scanned forms

19 © 2006 Formic Delete Data Use the Management Console to delete data: Select project > Database > rmc > Properties Delete Old Data – removes unused/unwanted fields from SQL Delete Processed Images – removes processed images only Delete Data – deletes both image and data Delete Data –Choose which respondents to delete –Select Delete –Type: DELETE –Click OK

25 © 2006 Formic Creating Frequency Counts Create frequency counts, cross tabulation, and descriptive analysis of collected data: Tools menu > Analysis > New Frequency Count Choose frequency count options View to screen or export as required Save analysis for future use
