2 Rebellions Rebellions are started mostly because of fear.
Rebellions are staged in camps and in much larger ghettos. Most rebellions establish a leader.

3 Major camp rebellion Few camps rebelled
Most were un successful in there attempts

4 Underground organizations
Most Jewish interactions were through secret organizations. Even groups in different ghettos and concentration camps could communicate with one another.

5 Sobibor Rebellion The Sobibor Rebellion, was a well known rebellion in a Jewish concentration camp. The uprising was organized by Alexander Pechersky. The chaos triggered a mass out break of the other Jews.

6 Resistance in Ghettos Rebellion in ghettos took many days of planning.

7 Warsaw Ghetto Uprising
The Warsaw Uprising was one of the longest rebellions. The actually fighting took about month.

8 The Start of the Resistance
The resistance was organized and ready to fight. Bunkers and trenches were built on main streets. The first major resistance came on January 18, 1943.

9 Mordecai Anielewicz Mordecai was the leader of the Warsaw rebellion.
As a young man he became a member of the Ha-shomer Hatzair. He was only 21 when he became the Warsaw uprising leader.

10 Warsaw Falls Mordecai Anielewicz leads the Jews into the standoff with the Germans A continuous stream of fighting started on April 18, 1943. The fighting lasted for 27 days.

11 Warsaw Ghetto Aftermath
Germans started to capture the remaining Jews. Most Jews were captured in the bunkers or hide outs. The Warsaw ghetto Uprising is the largest rebellion in Holocaust history.
